Welcome new graduate students and welcome back returning students!
As we begin the fall term and 2022-2023 Academic Year, the Graduate College would like to remind you of a few important academic dates, deadlines, policies and resources to help you navigate your graduate studies. We recommend you bookmark this information for future reference.
Graduate College Operations
The Graduate College office suite on the third floor of the Main Building (MAIN 301) is generally open for student services between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. EDT Monday through Friday. Students should check in using the kiosk at the front desk or contact graduatecollege@drexel.edu for assistance. We offer free filtered cold and hot water, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate for graduate students. Please stop in and say hello!
The Graduate Student Lounge on the lower level of Main Building (MAIN 010A) is open 24/7 and accessible to all graduate students via your DragonCard ID. Students are welcome to use the lounge space for social gathering, studying, eating, and events. More information about the lounge is available on the Graduate College website.
Health and Wellness Reminders
Please continue to refer to Drexel’s Response to Coronavirus website for the latest guidance and for contact information should you have any questions. Information about the Monkeypox advisory is also available on the Counseling and Health Services website.
Information about available health and wellness resources for graduate students is outlined on the Graduate College website, including information about SupportLinc, a free 24/7 confidential and professional service for support, guidance, counseling, and resources.
Welcome Week Highlights & Upcoming Events
We were thrilled to welcome more than 350 new and continuing graduate students at Monday’s Welcome & Resource Fair! Special thanks to the 50+ volunteer students, faculty and professional staff members and student panelists for offering a warm welcome and welcome back to our students! We invite those who attended the welcome programs on September 12 to complete a brief survey about your experience.

Be sure to get your tickets for this week’s Drexel Night at the Phillies vs. Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, September 20 at 6:45 p.m. at Citizens Bank Park! Tickets will be available first come, first served on Monday, September 19 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (or while supplies last) at Rush Garden.
The Steinbright Career Development Center (SCDC) is hosting a virtual info session on Tuesday, September 20 12-1 p.m. EDT. And, be sure to save the date for the Fall Career Fair (in-person and virtual options) October 11-13. More information about upcoming workshops can be found on the SCDC website.
Required Orientation for New Students – Complete by September 30
All new, incoming graduate students are required to complete the Graduate College’s self-paced, asynchronous online orientation in their Drexel Learn by Friday, September 30. More information about the orientation can be found on the Graduate College website. Students should also review the New Student Checklist.
Required Title IX Training for All Students – Complete by October 31
All graduate students are required to complete an online module entitled, "Drexel U Got This! - Graduate Student Training", a sexual and gender-based harassment and misconduct prevention program, by Monday, October 31 in order to be compliant with University policies for the 2022-2023 Academic Year. The training is required for all graduate students, including online students, annually in the fall. Students should have received a separate email with detailed information about how to access and complete the training in Drexel Learn. A copy of the message can be found in the “News” section of the Graduate College website.

You should also consult with your individual college or school officials and assigned graduate academic advisor(s) for additional dates, deadlines and requirements for your program.

Wednesday, September 21 by 4 p.m. EDT – Deadline to Submit a Graduate Program Completion Form for Summer Quarter Graduates (Required for PhD/doctoral and some Master’s thesis programs)
Friday, September 23 – Deadline to Confirm Your Enrollment in your DrexelOne
Friday, September 23 – Deadline to Add/Drop a Course with Academic Advisor Assistance*
Sunday, September 25 by 11:59 p.m. EDT – Deadline to Add/Drop a Course in your DrexelOne*
Monday, October 10 – Indigenous Peoples’ Day (University Holiday)
Monday, October 17 – Deadline to Submit an Application for Degree in your DrexelOne for Fall Quarter Graduation
Week of October 24 – Winter Quarter Registration Begins (Review Your Time Ticket Information)
Friday, November 4 – Deadline to Withdraw from a Course with Academic Advisor Assistance*
Wednesday, November 23 – Friday, November 25 – Thanksgiving Break, No Classes
Monday, November 28 – Classes Resume
Saturday, December 3 – Last Day of Classes*
Monday, December 5 – Term Examinations Begin*
Saturday, December 10 – Term Examinations End*
Saturday, December 10 – Fall Quarter Degree Conferral Date (Date that appears on diploma)
Friday, December 16 – Academic Standing Notices Go Out (See Graduate Academic Standing Policy)

Academic Policies & Procedures
Please refer to the academic policies and procedures listed on both the Provost’s and Graduate College websites. Additional policies are outlined in the Student Code of Conduct, including the Academic Integrity policy and conduct process. All students MUST be aware of and knowledgeable of these policies and procedures. Please review frequently for updates.
International students (F-1 and J-1) should refer to the latest updates, policies and information on the International Students & Scholars Services (ISSS) website.

Resources & Opportunities
- Review Campus Maps & Locations and plan ahead so you arrive at your scheduled classes on time.
- Review various transportation options and the Drexel shuttle bus schedules.
- Get acquainted with your DrexelOne portal and Drexel Learn, Drexel’s fully-supported learning management system.
- Visit Drexel University’s Information Technology (DUIT) website to get connected or to contact the IT Help Desk.
- Review Drexel’s Information Security team resources, best practices and available training.
- Review the information on the Public Safety website, including campus safety tips, how to request a walking escort and emergency phone numbers you should save in your phone.
- Visit the Drexel University Libraries website for a virtual orientation and resources.
- The Center for Learning and Academic Success Services (CLASS) offers peer and professional academic coaching for graduate students, as well as virtual and on-campus academic workshops.
- The Drexel Writing Center provides support through its Graduate Writing Consultants for all writing projects.
- Students seeking information or accommodations for a documented disability should register with Disability Resources.
- Review important policies and reporting protocols from the Office for Institutional Equity and Inclusive Culture (EIC), formerly the Office of Equality & Diversity (OED).
- Learn more about our commitment to justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI), Diversity Advisory Council and Drexel’s Anti-Racism Task Force.
- Review Drexel’s compliance and privacy services and compliance hotline and website.
- Invited to present your work at a meeting or conference, including virtually/online? Apply for a Teck-Kah Lim Graduate Student Travel Subsidy Award.
- Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for the GSA’s Health Insurance Deductible Subsidy for up to $100 back toward their Drexel Aetna student health insurance deductible.
